Signs For Motorists ?

Why dont they put a sign warning motorists of a warning sign ahead ?? Whilst travelling across the country at the weekend, we passed 2 big yellow warning signs, presumeably warning of dates of a future road close. We had passed them before we could read them and you cant really slow down or stop with a queue of cars behind. Unfortunately we came back a different way so couldnt read them again but may possibly travel on those roads again soon (if they are NOT blocked off) and we have a long detour

LOL to you both. Thats exactly what I mean. Hasnt anyone else passed a sign and had this conversation - "what did it say ??", " I dont know, youre the one driving and supposed to look at road signs " sez me. :>)

I like that Vulcan42. We have lots of signs near our home but no one takes any notice anyway
