Anyone got any recommendations of a good restaurant around Covent Garden that's fairly cheap, has a good atmosphere, plus good food? Italian food (ok, pizza and pasta!) is my favourite but am willing to look at different types.... It's for two of us as it's for boyfriend's birthday. Thanks

There was one particular one I was looking for but can't for the life of me remember what it was called.

Bistro 1, on Southampton Street, is very pleasant and serves good quality food (with Mediterranean influences) at really low prices.

Lunch is 6.50 for two courses or 7.50 for 3 courses. The menu is here:

Dinner is 8.90 for two courses or 9.90 for 3 courses. The menuu, which is basically the same as the lunchtime one, is here:

There's a map here:

Reservations aren't usually needed but, if you want to book a table, you should phone 020 7379 7585

Maxwells is good. American style diner. Food similar to Garfunkels, not restaurant exactly but good food and atmosphere.
Christopher's Bar and Grill is AMAZING!!!

Can't rate it highly enough pricey but well worth the money!
