what sort of person would he be? based on all the things we 'know' about him.

All the things he does if translated to human behaviour, how many of those would be favourable characteristics?

would you like him? be his mate?

Because it seems to me and great number on them would make him a nightmare person - a megalomaniac, bully, delusions of grandeur, irrational demands, cruel, a murderer, a bully, arrogant, vengeful, spiteful, demanding, control freak, impulsive, boorish, moody, demands adoration from everyone... etc
the list goes on ...

so what do you think? are there any traits about him that would make him a good person - as evidenced in his actual behaviour?
what things did he actually do - things noted in the bible - that make him a good bloke - except of course for talking and telling people how to be - (ok so he made the world in 7 days, but thats not really a personality trait)

are there enough good ones to cancel out the above list?

cheers

//If God Was A Normal Person, Here On Earth ...//

I might wish Him better luck than He had the last time He tried doing that. :o/
Grasscarp, //I suggest that there is no real difference.//

Describing posters as ‘rabble’ does not constitute attacking a belief. Just an example.

//Religion and Spirituality is a section which appears to be dominated by those who claim that they are atheist. If they truly are then why come here at all?//

This has been explained many times. Nevertheless, I’ll try again. Atheists have various reasons for taking an active interest in religion – not least because it affects us all – whether we want it to or not. Hence, they have a right to hold an opinion – but it appears you don’t agree.

naomi - as in the point em10 made - 'normal' is subjective, and i used it only to clarify that he was no longer a deity with special powers... he was just a human being.

a few of you seem to be jumping on words i used that are not important to the point of the post.

i meant if he was just a human being, with no special powers, on earth - thats it.
Have always thought that god was a grumpy auld git.
Lots of wrath, smiting, thou shalt not, etc.
Probably lives alone, with a cat.
Drinks sherry and shouts at the telly.
Hates Christmas.
joko, that's what I assumed you meant, but we usually judge people on their personalities don't we? - so no, I wouldn't like him and I wouldn't be his mate.
Question Author
yes, we do naomi, and thats what my post is about - but 'normal' is not a personality trait... since it means different things to different people ... and there is really no such thing when it comes to people...
Joko, Yes, 'normal' is defined differently by different people, but you included the word in your question without giving your definition of it and you talked about characteristics, which I would define as personality, so I don't really know what you mean now. Still, no point in picking the bones. I've given my answer and however anyone defines 'normal', that won't change.
Naomi@
//No, I wouldn’t like him and I wouldn’t choose him as a friend.//

Shouldn't worry Naomi - he probably wouldn't choose you as a friend anyway.

At the end of the day, its your choice. But whatever, you can never turn to him and say that you did not know anything about him or his purpose for the earth.

truthabounds ... i very much doubt naomi will lose a wink of sleep over that ...
