Cooker Hob Not Turning Down

I have a Belling free standing cooker and both of the large hot plates on the hob have started to over heat. A couple of weeks ago one would not turn down and now the same has happened to the other one. The knob turns but the plate stays on full heat.

The other two are fine, as are both ovens and grill.

Is this a thermostat/regulator issue and would I be able to replace it or do I need a professional?

Its much like this

You'll almost certainly have to contact Belling to get hold of the part(s), so why not talk to them about the problem to start with?

well....because its New Year's eve Chris and the next time they're open, I'm back to work. Not an easy thing to chat about on the phone during office hours.

I was thinking that if someone could reassure me that it is the regulator at fault then I will order online and fit it next weekend once its arrived. Again when I'm off work and the Belling people are too!

Anyone around this evening who might be able to advise me on this?
