Am I correct in saying i cannot fit a towbar to my 2005 ford ka?

Unless they're individually checked by the Vehicle Certification Agency (as with kit cars) all vehicle on UK roads must have 'EC Type Approval'. When Ford sought Type Approval for the Ka they did not declare it to be suitable for towing. Therefore it has no Type Approval for towing. Towing anything with it (whether that be with a towbar or just a rope) is consequently a criminal offence.
