I think my gmail account was hacked on xmas day :-(
I'm still getting failed send messages that make it look as if someone has managed to get into my account and spam out to random people on my address book. I went in and changed my password then logged out and back in again to make sure it worked (it did) but I am still getting the occasional 'delivery status notification', could this be a delayed response left over from before the point where I changed my password ?
I ran a full scan using the Microsoft Security Essentials I have installed (and up to date) and it found nothing.
Any advice?

I've had that twice and its coming from an IP address in Kazakstan or Krygykstan (sp) or somewhere like that. I've had to change my password twice.

Mine was (hopefully "was"!) coming from an address in the US.
Additional info: nothing has shown up in my "sent" folder!
Nothing in my sent items either.
Have you done the 'log out from all locations' which will ensure that any spammer is no longer able to use the account?

I'm not sure - I don't remember seeing that option. However - I did have to re-enter the new password on my Android phone.
Bottom Right of Gmail Inbox page - click on "Details" - will show you all recent activity and give the option to "sign out all other sessions".

...even though I changed the password using someone else's computer.

No I didn't do that, but it seems to have worked, the last suspicious activity is noted as being two days ago. I am hoping that the occasional failed message returns I'm still getting are left over from then.
What worries me is that amongst all the gobbledegook, it says it will try to re-send, that may p!ss people off, then I could lose them as contacts!
