I will be going to America and France (skiing) in the next couple of months and need to buy travel insurance fast!

I have never bought it before and would like to know how much is a reasonable amount to be paying and where I can get a good deal.

I don't know whether to go for an annual policy or two single trips - but I will need winter sports cover!

Thanks

Just happen to have a leaflet on travel insurance from the Post Office in front of me. The annual Cover (max duration 45 days per trip, includes 21 days ski/winter sports cover) costs 62 for Europe and 99 Worldwide for an individual. A single trip to Europe with ski/winter sports is 50 for 13-17 days and a single trip worldwide without ski cover is 56 for 13-17 days. Obviously there are many different prices for different trip lengths etc.
Hi pagey, I always insure with www.insureandgo.co.uk not sure how much your trip would cost with them, but i have always found them reliable and cheap, and you can book online up until the day before you leave. Definately recommend them, have a great time x

Here's another place you could try for a quote: -

Annual policies usually work out slightly lore costly than one single trip cover for equivalent terms.

Best use an insurance comparison site to search many policies available from several product providers. That way you can see the differing prices and can choose the product with the best terms and condition for the price you are willing to pay.

Try www.moneysupermarket.com or www.financial-sense.co.uk/travel-insurance-deals.htm

Tips : don't buy the first product you find and cheaper is not always better !
