I would have thought that the many donors of the RSPCA hoped that they would have put the money to better use than prosecuting a few Hooray Henrys.

I don't think it's the killing (culling) so much pdq 1, as the way it's gone about.
Badgers tend not to be chased to the point of exhaustion then ripped to pieces by dogs.
foxes are weapons of mass destruction? Maybe Saddam sent them here.
us townies don't always get the ways of the countryside, those who like hunting, fishing and shooting, none of which i can do. Well perhaps a little bit of the fishing but those who participate in blood sports and are caught should be heavily find, and if persist go to prison. I can't understand the mindset of someone who wants to see a fox torn to shreds, if it has to be killed, do it humanely. By the way do the anti fox hunting fraternity ever turn up at places where ritual slaughter of animals goes on, if not why not. Is it just fluffy bunnies and foxes they are interested in?
I do think that some of it is class hatred, even though many on the hunts are not as you described a bunch of HH's
i am missing letters here, blimey, " heavily fined",
My keyboard has been sticking for ages......
Yes, I think it's money well spent. These hunters need to be stopped, hunting is now illegal, but they just don't care.
pdq Well its alright to kill badgers in cold blood but not to kill foxes who mutilate chickens for no other reason than to cause mass destruction.

No it's not alright to kill badgers in cold blood.

And David Attenborough has disproved the theory of foxes killing chickens just for the fun of it. He proved that, left to its own devices and undisturbed, the fox will keep returning to the scene of the kill until it has removed all the corpses.

And Yes, I support the RSPCA and I am pleased they have brought about the prosecution. Very pleased, for the reasons others have stated.
I think, given the cost of the prosecution bill many, many animals could have been helped. I'm not sure the protecting one to save the all is going to play out in this scenario.
