"The remedy is worse than the cure" ....

I have found "the disease is worse than the cure" which was said by Francis Bacon, but not the remedy. A search on Google has only come up with a few hits, all of which are very obscure .... maybe it is a misprint and should read disease? Can anyone help, cos I have done the remaining 99 questions and only have this one left.

Bacon also said apparantly 'The remedy is worse than the disease' Difficult one this, as we have a play on words all the time, and you can go around in circles! I think your idea of a misprint may have something! Will keep looking for you, but feel a little lost on this one! Sorry! Happy holiday!
The only possible source is Bartletts Quotations at your local library. The quotation as stated may have been taken from a source other than a quotation dictionary. Remember ` All that GLISTERS is not gold` yet how many say `All that glitters is not gold` ?
