I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 that I was using today with no problem and did a file back-up to CD this afternoon. Now when I turn the laptop on the screen goes to 'starting windows' and then I have to wait an age until it loads Windows 7.
When it does load, the laptop runs very slowly and some websites 'are not responding'.
This has never happened before.
I am running McAfee (installed by techie at work) and also Malwarebytes as he recommended.
Can anyone suggest what I can do to remedy this?

Thank you, fender, ans sorry for not replying sooner.
Hello Annemollie. Not sure if your Laptop question resolved but I personally found that McAfee doesn't sit happily alongside some other security programmes. In fact it crashed my brand new Lenova (came pre-installed) when coupled with ZoneAlarm. All was well when MCAfee substituted with one of the excellent free Anti-Virus alternatives (eg Avast or AVG or Comodo).
