Game trade in 3DS for XL

I am tempted to trade in my 3DS to get the 3DS XL, but I was just wondering (to save me trekking into Game first) does anybody know if Game will transfer the data from the DS I am trading to my new one? Seems a shame to lose all my efforts! Oh and if you have to trade the charger in too? As the 3DS XL doesnt come with one for some strange reason!
