There are some strange names for places around Aberdeen such as Fattahead, South Flobbets, Lost, Morphie, OldWhat, and Yonder Bognie. There must be other areas of the UK with similar strange names. Where's the most unusual ?

I used to live near a place called Pratt's Bottom. And I once heard of a place called Lord Hereford's Knob.
In Lincolnshire there is a sign that says 'To Mavis Enderby and Old Bolingbroke'. Underneath, some wag has written 'The gift of a son'.
I reently made a detour to WETWANG in Yorkshire just to say I had been there. They have a fetsival of scarecrows every year where individuals and groups can make a scarwcrow of notable figures and put them up in public places. Richard Whitely (of countdown fame) is the Mayor. We also went to TERMONFECKIN in Ireland for the same reason .-Well it gets us out of the house.

Piddle valley (near buckinghamshire) and shitterton (Devon) are two that spring to mind.
some villages near Halifax, West Yorkshire, are built on the side of valleys - and as a result are divided into their respective "top" "middle" and "bottom"s when named. Slack Bottom is my personal favourite.
