Not sure if this is the right section.... report me and send me on my way if not.....

I have fair complexion, well kind of pasty really, dark hair and green / blue eyes. What colour eyeshadow suits this? I usually wear like a really dark brown/ charcoal as it makes my eyes even bluer, but am thinking of something less smokey and more funky. Ta :-)

Have you tried lilac or any colour from the purple range. I have pale skin, dark hair and brown eyes and often wear these sort of colours.
Hi Natalie, Ive got dark hair pale skin & green eyes too and when I want to go for a more funky look I brush a shimmery pink eyeshadow (rose suivez mon regard to be exact!) from bourjois over my whole eyelid and a tinybit on the outer corner of my lower lid, then use a shimery pearly white shadow in the corner of my eye (near the tear duct) and blend them in together. Finish off with eyeliner and mascara. Pink looks great with our green eyes!

Thanks both, I thought I'd ppost this first because make up is so expensive and I'd have to buy a colour and get home to find it looks awful!!

agree with hannah jo, pink will bring out green eyes, the one colour you shouldn't wear is blue/green as it will detract from your eyes. For an evening look, a pink or cream base with smokey charcoal or greys (which also go well with pinks) looks good, and black eye liner along the top lash line, with black mascara. Although brown mascara is better for daytime.

A good base and a bronzing powder will also bring out your eyes, if you have pale skin (like me!).

Be careful with creamy eye shadows, as it depends on your eyes, I can't wear it because i don't have large eye lids and it creases and comes off within about half an hour!

Nat, dont mean to highjack your question but im useless with makeup and englishbirds reply got me thinking, i have brown eyes and i put brown eyeshadow on, going on your rule about blue/green detracting from blue green eyes, will it be the same for me? can anyone recommend a colour that will look nice?

i read this thing about eyeshadow once, it said try to keep to the same colour as your eyes, so maybe if you tried a green or grey, i think that would look good. and dont orget, you can also mix the colours, you could have green on your lids and bron or grey above them
OH and dont forget to get your glitter eyeshadow out for the xmas parties!!! xxx

hi aliflump, I've found this which might help,

The key with make-up is to just keep trying different things. I acheived some hideous effects when i was a teenager, but it's only by perservering that you find out what you like and what suits you. I look at magazines a lot especially at eyes and try to re-create them. Just do it at home on your own, or maybe with a brutally honest friend if you're nervous - do not try new make up half an hour before you're going out!!!! (I've done that too!)

Never underestimate the power of a bit of glitter, a well shaped eyebrow and a good base. Less is more. A lot of beauty salons do make up lessons if you're really unsure. x

Thanks Englishbird, ill have a go and have super christmas eyes!! x
