You Can Now Automatically Subscribe To All Of Your Own Questions & AB downtime

Afternoon All,

If you would care to take a glance at the "Edit Profile" page;

You'll see there is a new tickbox labelled:

[X] Subscribe to all my own questions

This will allow all old members to be automatically subscribed to all future questions. For existing members this is automatically unticked.

For new members this will be automatically ticked. We hope this will encourage newbies to come back for a second go :)

Unticking it doesn't unsubscribe you from all questions, you still have to do that manually.

Questions, comments, thoughts all welcome, as always.

Thanks for explaining so well Mamya - it sounds good but not sure about receiving an email every time, if its a lively thread you could get hundreds - is that every time someone replies?

You could do, if you start a very popular thread. Popular email webclients like Gmail "thread" these messages together so they're all clumped together, so the don't make a mess.

For the majority of users they'll get a few when their question is answered and then the question wont be answered again, so they're safe to forget about it.

Which box are you ticking Ron?

We've tested it on FF, Chrome and IE (a couple of versions...) and it has worked fine on those.

If you're ticking the box in the "edit profile" section then you need to click "submit" to make sure it saves.
