22a) Maybe last person to run chilly port has staff for a long time (9)
is ANCHORMAN. Last person = anchorman ( in tug o' war? ) but why the rest?
Also, 16d She got up to get betrothed right away! (8) is Rosemary. Rose=got up but am I correct in saying that betrothed is married or engaged and not MAR(R)Y? i.e. the wrong tense

to get betrothed = to marry. Tense is OK.

Thanks both but I still don't understand the composition of 22a. Anchorage doesn't fit with 16d ROSEMARY which gives M as 3rd from last. Yes, age=a long time but where in the clue is the definition of anchorage?
Isn't there a port called Anchorage?

Sorry if I have got it wrong on second thoughts ?

the chilly port is Anchorage (Alaska) so that may work with your definition
I can see Anchorman/men being right then if that fits.
Chilly port = Anchorage. Replace AGE (long time) by MAN (staff)
An anchorman is the last person to run in a relay.
