Does this happen to anyone else?

I am just reading the latest postings and click on one of them to read it. I am halfway though when my cursor freezes on an eggtimer symbol and will not budge. Eventually I have to end task and reboot the computer whereupon it is impossible to retrieve what I was reading. This time it was under Jokes I am certain but it has now gone for good.

Yes Star, I get that too. but it happens too when i'm reading emails. grrr!

How can I stop the ads? I also get the runaway eggtimer, not just on the site, how canI stop that?

As the ads pay for this site, how much would you like to pay if everyone stopped the ads?

the site ads have quadrupled in the 7 years since i joined, the site does not appear to have changed much at all, the advertisers take over most things we have no control over, at least my viewing choice on this site i can control.

I can see the ads but just ignore them as mentioned before, the ads pay for this site.
