people are forever tying to change the use of the site, wanting to add this, change that, trying to steer it away from its main function as a q&a site

thankfully on the whole the ed seems to stick to the original purpose of the site as much as possible.

I am new here, I have found the setup to be user friendly and I like it. If I come across something that does not interest me, I move on. Sometimes I glance at the little box in the upper-right and see nothing but puzzles – crosswords. I do not go there, you people blow me away with smarts on those. (make me feel dumb LOL) I agree with all others. If you do not like it, just leave. I like the jokes, I enjoy laughing. I cry enough with the way life is, or at least mine. So please stop, let them make jokes, post jokes, make me laugh, and I will not try to stop what you like and want on here

Apologies for bumping my own thread but another suggestion if I may?

I don't ask many questions but I do like to answer when I'm able - and because I can only visit when I'm not at work, the 'latest posts' area is most relevant to me. Most stuff has been answered when I get here.

So because [some] other people do seem to enjoy the 'jokes' in chatterbank, and I use the word 'jokes' loosely, might it be an option to not have chatterbank stuff in the 'latest posts'? Otherwise it's a chore going through every category. Hard to ignore in other words.
