I need to replace some MEM grid switches (lighting) in a pub. They were installed about 12 years ago. I have an idea they're obsolete now.
Googling keeps coming up with dead ends. Anybody know of a direct replacement equivalent?

You are one of the very few people here who consistently gives accurate answers and I only wish I could be of assistance to you in solving your problem.
I have found that "Maplin" have been able to assist me often,in the past.
I mention this as perhaps you have not tried them.
Wishing you good luck in your search
I've had a look with other search engines - any of these lnks helpful ?

Sir Oracle... that's very kind of you to say that. Very much appreciated. One of the great advantages of this site is the opportunity to ask as well as advise.

I'm sure one of the usual electrical suspects will be along soon... ;o)
You have my sympathy, Builder. It's like when I wanted to add another circuit to a consumer unit, only to find that, in their wisdom, the manufacturers of the breaker switches had changed their design, and suppliers only stocked the new ones, which didn't fit. Arrrgh!
In my case, a quick scan on eBay came up with what I needed. Worth a try?

Biker Dave ........ that looks like it. I didn't think of trying Newey's.
They look right to me..... and after various "forums" have told me they were no longer available ;o(

Also, Sir Oracle, Maplin don't keep them I'm afraid.

Thanks Dave

Thanks Heathy.
I've had trouble with this same switchbank before. A grid dimmer packed up. To get over it, I had to cobble together a part of the original with a (non-fitting) MK dimmer.
Buildness...are they the moulded toggle type or the flat rocker sort.
Question Author
Hiya Brighty. Sorry I've only just seen your post. They're the flat rocker type.
They look like the 8000 range...try Ebay....good luck
