Saw Skyfall last night and as an avid Bond fan I was totally disappointed, wrong on so many levels. They completely ignored the Bond formula and turned it into a Poor Bourne impersonation. if I'd never seen or heard of Bond I'd have given it 6/10 as a reasonable action thriller, slow in places but against Bond criteria, sorry guys 3/10. Note to Barbara B, hire me as a consultant next time, in fact I'd do it for free, we need to sort this out! What do others think?

I take your point Kerr - it's not a Bond film as we knew them though in some ways it is more so than the last two
eg return of Q and Ms Moneypenny

However, many will argue that moving on from the old style was appropriate 50 years on - a lot has happened in film since 1962

Yes I understand but I was absolutley horrified at the first part of the film, clearly written by a social worker! What we love about Bond is that despite fallibility and errors there is core that is perfect unchangable and will emerge when the chips are down, "what would Bond do?" in any given situation is answerable by the true fan. Not any more it isn't!
I'm with Zeuhl on this one. I enjoyed it. I loved the shots in London and Scotland. (I work near Tower Bridge and they filmed near there). OK, so it wasn't a traditional Bond. Above all, it was entertaining. And Daniel Craig is a hunk. Nuff said!! I did wonder why he was able to walk through the carriage so easily - supposedly during rush hour.
I'm not really a Bond fan, but I quite liked this. Unusual to have a UK setting?
I thought the villain was very poor, especially after his turn in "No Country For Old Men", but like the new Q - shades of Abby in NCIS?
