When I look at anything on eBay/Amazon etc. it shows previously viewed items down the side. As I'm looking for Christmas goodies that I don't want others to see is there anyway of stopping this. TIA.

Well, I don't think so. But tbh I don't really know for sure. I'm just summising. You can always pretend it is for someone else?
I don't think so unless you create a couple of new accounts on different email addresses.
Easily.
In Amazon, immediately above the bar of items previously viewed (your recent history)there is a little 'what's this?' clickable link.
Click that, then click the 'turn off your browsing history' link.

On the eBay homepage, simply click 'remove recent searches'.
You could use inprivate browsing on internet explorer and it is not meant to save your history so might stop what you have looked at showing up on just the normal web browser.
