I am currently living in a flat above premises which are being redeveloped. A couple of months ago during the demolition work, vibration caused a paperweight to fall off a shelf smashing my TV stand, damaging my flat screen TV and Sky box. We were advised that any movement in the building would be monitored but this information hasnt been forthcoming. I put in a request for "like for like" replacement with the construction company but they still havent come back to me. They are apparently contacting their insurance. I didnt have accidental cover on my contents insurance at the time. Should the construction company be responsible for contacting their insurance and making a claim off their public liabiliy insurance?
I would appreciate any advise anybody can give please.
Thanks
