My girlfriend had the worst injuries physically. But I'm writing on here because mentally I cant coupe, everytime I close my eyes I see the look of fear on my sons face, I have nightmares, I'm drinking I need help I don't know what to do

Best to get expert medical advice. I'm surprised that you weren't given it at the time for possible delayed shock.
It's only been a week, you're bound to be shook up still.
I know it sounds a bit lame, but try not to think about 'what could have happened' and focus on the fact that you all survived. A positive attitude can make a huge difference to your emotional recovery.
It does sound like you are experiencing some difficulties in coping with aftermath of a very traumatic experience.

It seems to me that you would benefit from having a conversation with your GP to establish whether they can recommend any professional services for you.

You may find the following link of some benefit;

I would advise that you pop along to your GP and explain the situation. He can then refer you to your primary care trust for 'counselling' or more specifically treatment for post traumatic stress disorder, etc. If by the time an appointment becomes available for treatment you can always cancel it if you feel that it is no longer required.

I would get the ball rolling asap as sometimes the waiting list can be quite long.

Thinking of you all.................xx
As well as your GP you could try Victim Support, I'm not sure if they deal with RTAs but if they don't I'm sure they could point you in the right direction, have someone removed from the situation available to speak to whenever you need it. http://www.victimsupp...ou/Victim-Supportline

The Samaritans may also be able to help in the interim.

Give yourself a break though, it's hardly surprising you're struggling after such a scare and with your children involved.
I've read the advice that people have given and there really isn't a lot more than can be said but I just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you all and my heart goes out to you xxxx
GP now. Nothing else to say. YOu need some medical assistance.
Was your 4th child involved as well?

No the car crumbled around the kids sitting behind the two fronts seats. If she was with us she would have been crippled or killed coz all that middle part forced a v shape between those seats.. Please if anyone has one of these cars from this experience please don't put your kids in those seats, watch a safety video for them they only pass with the five seats, after that the rest is added
stevie I'm sorry to hear of your nasty experience, you've had some good advice here you should follow. Most of all accept that it has been a short time and you will come to terms with it. I agree with the 'thank goodness it wasn't worse' view.
Quite coincidentally I was also involved in a RTA on Tuesday night, stationary in a lonq queue on the M25 and some idiot smashed into the back of us at some speed. i was driving with 2 passengers and we were OK apart from sore necks and backs but I've also thought back to it a lot, it could have been far worse. The aftermath of all the phone calls, form filling and being chased by insurance companies to put in a personal injury claim didn't help either. Anyway I wish you all the best.
