My 8-year-old female cat has really bad dandruff, like flaky skin on her back. She has to be on a special dry food diet as she has IBS (seriously) and also takes evening primrose oil (again, seriously), anyone know what we can do to stop this as it's gross! She is combed daily and there is always bits of dead skin in the comb - yuk!! can anyone help?

If she's lost fur where its flakey it could be a flea allergy, or another possible reason is that your cat has been stressed lately, has anything happened in your home recently, any change? The reason i ask this is because this happened with my cat cause i moved home plus my 2yr old kept hasseling him, i got advised to buy some vitamin E capsules for him, it did help abit, [Email address removed as per site policy. - AB Editor]

Thanks very much for that, [Email addresses are removed as per site policy. - AB Editor]. She hasn't recently been subjected to stress but is a very stressful cat. She is almost like a rescue cat, cowering, nervous etc but we've had her since she was a kitten and she has no reason to be like this.
It's definitely not fleas as she is checked and medicated for this, unless it;s an allergy to the medicine i suppose. Anyway you've given me some things to think about and will be interested to see the vitamin e thing, thanks.
