Go to the question below mine, to answer no.11 simples! John
John's Q:

I bought a Candy/hoover under counter fridge a couple of years ago and ever since new has been too cold...I switch it on slowly and the instant the inside light comes on I stop turning the knob. It is on less than 1/2 way to No.1. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do to try and put it right? I think they should normally run on around No.5. Thanks in advance, John.
Oh...
I put a thermometer in my frdge and alter the dial.
I run mine at 5 to 6 degrees centigrade and the setting is about 2 and a half.
The highest setting is 6.

Hi MANFROM PLUTO, My fridge is already too cold on 1/1....Thats the problem.
This always confuses me with fridges that have a dial. Is 1 the lowest power so making it the warmest temp or is 1 the actual temperature so making it the coldest setting? Have you tried turning it to 5 or 6 to see whether that setting is colder or warmer?
Question Author
1 is the warmest. As you turn to 2,3,4 etc. it gets colder. My fridge wants to be less cold but I can't do it.
Is the compressor running for long periods of time?
our fridge runs about 3.5 -4.

Whyever didn't you query this with Candy when you bought it? Two years is too long, it's out of warranty now.

boxtops--I thought it would sort itself (but it didn't)

Just googled Candy/Hoover and got "fridgeshop.net" They list stacks of fridge No.s (Mine's probably one of them) and say they will fix it !!!!! I just buy (from them) a multimeter for £7.45,spend up to 1 hour on the phone to them (fixed price £15) then buy the part they say is needed costing between £20 and £55 ! I shall leave it as it is thank you.....John
Johny, just out of curiosity, was it the temperature control/thermostat mechanism that was at fault?
