new to me anyway an english voice recorded message telling me im over 60? and that i have £1000.waiting to be sent to me to activate this procedure press 5 OR to unsubscribe press 9 NOW...obviously this i going to activate a long message to me at a vast premium rate

I registered with TPS and it was great but now it seems to be'wearing off' as I have a fair few silent calls, etc.

We find CPS more comprehensive - you do have to pay for it but IMO it's worth it

I've also got caller display and if it's a non-local number or number withheld I just don't answer the phone.

If it's on a mobile simply forward the call to 7726 and they will do the necessary to discover whois. No idea about landlines tho'

All I was wondering was how you knew you'd obviously get charged a premium rate number if you pressed 5 or 9 so I asked whether you'd had an email warning about this scam
