Afternoon.

We've noticed it's got a bit "rough" in here recently.

We'd like this section to be accessible to all without fear of being "ambushed" by members who simply disagree with them.

Please remember calling someone an idiot (or similar) is very unlikely to aid the changing of their perspective.

We're not asking you to change what you say - we're asking you to change the way you say it.

In other news: we now have a small "welcome box" between the "enter a question" box and the questions below. Suggestions welcome for things we could pop in there.

All the best,

Ed

Hello dear Theland. Nice to see you. Welcome back. Sperlatt! :o)
Theland
Pitchforks and rock throwing are not nice, but hurling a custard pie, although uncomortable, makes for entertainment.
My shirts are full of custard stains by the way.

Custards last stand . . . or perhaps custurd is a more appropriate spelling in this case?

Never could resist a good 'food fight' then could you Theland? :o)

Actually, Wildwood, I was going for the sic joke. But alas, an apostrophe was definitely in order.

But thanks all the same. Custard's my favourite flavour. :o)
Ed - “... How do you expect us to do anything to help a situation like the one you describe when you're not alerting us to it?...”

I did alert you (ie. AB) to it at the time. Nothing happened. I've never reported anything or anyone since. The only reason I brought it up is because you appear to be targeting me specifically. You've already accused me of being a rabble rousing, pitchfork carrying loon and now you're further vilifying me by unnecessarily stating publicly that, “... I find no reports FROM you, although I do see some about you...”.

Why did you feel the need to release that particular nugget of information? Will you also be publicly posting the names of all other people who have complaints about them or are you reserving that dubious honour for me specifically?

As to which bits of your previous posts has lead me to be believe that you haven't been entirely honest, I'm not now prepared to say. You may feel that's churlish of me but quite frankly the way you have treated me in this thread has been pretty appalling coming as it does from someone who is apparently calling for a greater amount of civility in this section of AB.
//Custard's my favourite flavour. :o) //

Ha ha! And it suits you so well. ;o)
Ed, I’m a bit confused here. I know you say you can’t read everything – and of course you can’t – but if you’ve had reports about Birdie, why didn’t you remove the offending posts once they were brought to your attention?

Also, you accuse Birdie of leading ‘rabble’, so how does that equate to your request here for civility? Or do you not believe in leading by example?
More a case of Do as I say, not as I do I'd say.
Splutter splutter, drip drip. (Just wiping my chin).
Yes, well, You can't whack a good pie fight, so I hope His Ediness will not be a miserable old git, and, wearing his puritan hat, attack the piefighters with a barrage of serious tut tuts, and threats of red button annhialation.
And of course, a big, "Hello," to old friends.
My word, what a quiet Saturday night. logging off now to watch a recording of Casualty.
Theland. //Splutter splutter, drip drip. (Just wiping my chin).//

Ahhhh. That takes me back! Reminiscent of the halcyon days when humour reigned, when custard pies were the standard ammunition between opposing regulars – and when trouble-makers, in any guise, were recognised for what they were. :o)
mibn2cweus; //Actually, Wildwood, I was going for the sic joke. But alas, an apostrophe was definitely in order.//
Granted. but it is so hard to find an opportunity for a custard pie moment in your answers, so I had to nit-pick.

You have to admit; the humble custard pie has raised more laughs in the past than much of the foul mouthed so-called humour that is around now.
Never in the field of religious debate, was so much custard, thrown by so many, at so few.
I remember well the night parties in the wine cellar of Nims thirteenth floor multi story flat, hiding the cellar keys inside my knitted thong, and daring the Starman to retrieve them, which he did ..... with his teeth!
Ah what a Revival it was. The good ole days of yore ..... and mine.
Haaaaaaaa! Yes indeed. What fun we had. :o)
Help me! Help me! I'm being ambushed by Goodlife and Theland. They're ganging up on me and calling me names! I think I'm going to cry. Where's the valiant Ed on his noble steed when I need him?
Why is this thread still 'sticky'?
