Shouldn't it be up to the owners who they admit into their homes.

Well, that would be illegal wouldnt it pdq? No moral judgement required, always assuming the hotels actually ask for proof of age prior to confirming bookings.

Is homosexuality illegal?
It is really interesting that you have posted this. We have a huge mash up between my husband and my son about this exact issue. I agree that, if you begin a business, you should follow the laws of the land. If you are racist or sexist or object to gay relationships you should not

Well the room was pre-booked. They did not state they were 2 males. They would not require the ages and its only because of the recent publicity we know who we're talking about but in a similar case would be unknown but who were breaking the law. Shopkeepers who sell cigarettes to under age are breaking the law but B&B owners would not.
Why should they have to state they were two males?
They asked for a double-room and paid a deposit.
The B&B owners should have made enquiries if they wanted to preserve their moral stance.
I'm sorry PDQ but your argument is becoming garbled.

Two gay men booking hotel is not illegal. To discriminate is illegal.

Booking into a hotel with a minor? My father would have been in trouble when we booked into a hotel when visiting my Mother in hospital in that case.
Point is that if you are offering a public service, you have no right to discriminate against any particular segment of society, regardless of your own personal views.

I havent followed the case all that closely, but it is all the more wrong if they took the booking then attempted to turn them away on the doorstep. Same thing for unmarried heterosexuals as well, come to that...

So no, our equality laws have not gone too far.
that sounds like harbouring a criminal
