Tartanwizard's Q below has led me to wonder if we still harbour any fears left over from childhood - even though we are all grown up?

well yes i bought a video of Special Bulletin which brought a lot of nuclear holocaust memories and gave me a night thinking again about the possibilities of war. All that seems to have changed these days is the boogieman nowadays it seems saddam hussein is the one to worry about but i think as adults we don't have the time to just sit and worry about the really big problems that consume children we have to worry about paying bills etc. so what's hiding in the shadows just has to disappear and we tell ourselves that we know that it's not real that the creak we heard was just the timbers in the roof and not the monster under the bed.
I'm still worried about the baggage retrieval system they've got at Heathrow' . . Just trying to cheer you all up a bit.

Fear of the dark especially if I know I'm alone in the house.

At the end of my Q I should have added "light-hearted only". I think we should all rush down to 'Toys R Us' and cheer ourselves up!!
Aah! Getting sacred now eh. Cetti? Oops I meant scared. Those 'Bush Tucker Trials' on Get me Out Of Here I'm A Celebrity... Cor, talk about fears. That spiderman who climbs up buildings without any equipment.. Cor, talk about no fear.. That current series about Human Instincts and why we fear snakes etc. Fear of the unknown, like strange pains and tomorrow's surprises..

You're spot on, xyzzyplugh - I'm absolutetely scared witless - as well as sacred!!!!
I scared of hanging my feet off the edge of the bed cos te gremlins will bite my toes off.
I'm not scared of the dark - just what's in it, eg the Thing Under the Bed, which lies in wait to grab my ankles. I had velociraptors prowling round at night for several months after watching Jurassic Park, too.
If i'm spot on Cetti, where's my star??

Don't be greedy - you already have 3!!!!
My sister used to have a doll when she was young, well she used to have lots of them. Although there was one in particlar that stood at a height of about 3'. I used to have nightmares of it walking about the house at night. To this day I remain a tad weary of dolls. Can someone hold my hand please?
Fear of the dark i.e. having to turn a light on before entering the room, fear of someone hiding under the bed or the sofa, running down the stairs and imagining someone is behind you - guess I have a very vivid imagination.

I'm still scared of the dark! I prefer to sleep with my lights on.
