I have always assumed that Chatterbank is open for cross words. So putting the topic in question immediately underneath it would be appropriate and it would be in alphabetical order.

Ron
Is there no way that you could allow mods to move threads into the correct topic? E.g. next to the Suspend and Ban buttons, couldn't you have a dropdown where they could select the correct topic and doing so would not only move the thread into that topic but would also send an email to the OP saying where there thread has been moved to...?
Good suggestions Mark.

Talking of 'Drop Down Boxes'. I would like to see one which would enable one to set type into italics, underline, make print bold, etc. I would not wish colour to be an option because of the rainbow effect which is all too powerful in the Ed's Avatar.:-)

This site is quite unusual inasmuch as off-topic posts are completely tolerated. I belong to several other similar forums where repeated off-topic posts i.e. posting in the wrong category result in suspension / termination.

As for RTF, I'm quite glad it's not available as it is so often over-used.

Italic is available, though...

Hardly the end of the world if a Q is entered into the wrong topic.

A crossword is a puzzle.

Change the other heading to "Quizzes".

Leave them together in the list.

IMO, of course.
Lol..you took the words right out of my mouth there LiK ..
I rarely click on the category .I just answer from latest posts.
The only time I click into Q&P is if I have a question on my crossword .
Hi shaney...Hope you are fit and well, and still using your slow cooker, as Viv and I are; ever since you recommended such.

Both you and L-i-K have made the point. The only time I get really annoyed about incorrect postings is when people, who have been Banned, use the Ed's Blog/Suggestions as a means to re-enter AB, as if they are completely innocent of procedures within AB. Personally, I think they are stupid because they are so often sussed out.

Ron.
why not just change the colour of the text for a few weeks so peoples eyes are drawn to it?
Things seem to be improving - a quick count of posts in the last 3 hours shows around 60% of crossword clues are now going on Crosswords, with the rest mainly in Q&P.
I've pointed out (politely I think) to a few regular crossword posters on Q&P that there is a new crossword section, but I know some people don't like me doing that and it's not up to me anyway- if anyone should do it it's Ed so I'll stop now. Someone pointed out that they get a quicker response in Q&P, and maybe they are right to carry on in that case. I think others just go to Q&P out of habit.
I notice that Crosswords comes after Q&P in the alphabetical list- maybe it's worth putting it just before Q&P , or now moving it to it's alphabetical place, just a sit is on the list that comes up when you enter a question on the Home page and it asks you to select a topic from the drop down box.
Oops- I know Mark- it's its not it's.
Yes but some things belong together - like Conditioner and Shampoo in the supermarket, they don't put deodorants in between.
.. and Law and Jokes
There's a "Home" page?..
As a regular Crosswords person, I would love to be able to find this alphabetically, and had not even noticed the new section.
I'm sure you are pulling my leg, Lie-in King, and I too very rarely use the home page but presumably new users may land at this Home page:

mamyalynne..Please don't put AB in the same bracket as Supermarkets.

AB is open to suggestions but Supermarkets just do not want to know. My supermarket is S... sh, mustn't advertise ... and sees nothing wrong with similar commodities being 'miles' apart within the store.
