Most agree Obama had his butt kicked in the first debate so is this just a bout of sour puss mud slinging? http://www.bbc.co.uk/...ld-us-canada-19835176

A fairly natural reaction ,I would have thought. Political suicide to state "yep, Mitt got the better of me" :)

Do you think Romney would have not done something similar had the situation been reversed?
People are taken in by a candidate for an hour on TV and they end up with a lame duck running the country.

Sound familiar?
Yes, Blair.
I don't know if Blair was a lame duck but he certainly ducked out and left
patsy Brown to pick up the pieces.

Do ducks feather their nests ? Well Blair is a master craftman at doing that.
I believe the actual election is in November.
It was interesting to hear a lot of reaction from Americans who agree that Romney (perhaps unsurprisingly) looked the livelier and hungrier (more desperate perhaps) but who don't seriously consider that he will win the election. Which was reassuring at least.
Blair a lame duck? He won three consecutive general elections outright. So far Cameron hasn't even won one such victory!
Having said that - and re Gromit's earlier post above - I was thinking more of Clegg in respect of providing a good TV debate performance followed by proving disastrous in 'action'.
Let's hope the Americans aren't naive enough to give Romney the opportunity to do the same!
Quizmonster,
I was of course referring to Clegg. I did not like Blair, but he could in no way be described as a lame duck. Unfortunately quite the reverse, he bulldozed through some bad policies, and of course sent us into two wars. A lame duck couldn't do that.
Welcome back R1G.
If Mitt the Tit got the better of Obama then I'm very surprised indeed. Not that I am a fan of Obama's, more that I don't rate his challenger at all.
Better to win the last debate than the first ...
