why do the police HAVE to lie
Are they that desperate to get convictions?
Im in crown court in 2 weeks on an 'alleged' offence of affrey. Ive recently obtained copies of all my notes (wittnes statments, police statments etc) and what the police are saying is a complete croc of cr*p). I now have to disprove the police. How on earth can I disprove hearsay from supposed officers of the law?
I dont even think that I'll be in court. Im seriously thinking of ending my life.

keep sober?? why was this said? I understand you have a problem Nailit but the problem could become serious, people have been know to commit a very serious crime through drink I've no need to harp on about that, In the town that I live a lot of people I have know since I moved here 40yrs + ago have gone to their makers, don't be one that Ive known through this site to be the next.
perhaps the word attack was used by your sister in fear that you might?
or maybe she said it as in a verbal attack ?- shouting at her etc
she may not remember she said it.
either way - you have 2 people - the people involved, who can state catagorically that you didnt attack her - so not sure why youre so worrried that its your word against theirs? ... unless your mum and sis agree with them?
also they tape calls - so your sisters exact words will be there for all to hear - you may find that the misunderstanding was an easy mistake to make.
regarding the knife - i think whether you picked it up before or after is not all that important - fact is you had a knife and waved it at the police and other people ...
did you put it down instantly, put your hands up and tell the officers there was no danger to them - or did you keep hold of it, waving it about?
the fact that you had cut just cut your wrists and presumably drunk means you were not in your right mind - and probably means your version of events may not be all that factual - rather your perception and what you feel about things.
think how it looked from their side? right or wrong all they know is their perception of things.
all you can do is try to explain your side.
try not to be accusatory and call the police liars - that will not go down well - but rather, try to explain your version and your perception of it -
explain that you meant no harm to anyone and its all just become misconstrued.
acknowledge that you undertsand how it could have looked that way in their eyes but that they have misunderstood and jumped to conclusions.
they see a weapon and have to act on it - they have to react as though you are going to use it.
if your behaviour was aggressive then theyd have good cause to suspect you may use it.
keep calm and try not to sound angry or bitter or overly emotional and dont raise your voice or argue etc.
show some remorse etc.

joko...my sis has stated that she initially called the police for MY sake as I appeared to be having a breakdown and she wanted me taken to a place of safety (even if it WAS a cell). No hint whatsoever that I was attacking my mum. She even told the interviewing police officer that I would never hurt my family. (he was trying to get my sis to say that im violent by nature, something she wasnt happy about)
Will they play the 999 call in court, could be interesting.
I put the knife down several seconds after the police told me to. I initially couldnt understand what the police were telling me to do. They were both shouting and I was in a distressed, confused state and was frightened at what was happening to me. I made no verbal threats to the police, I made no move towards them and the knife was not pointed at them. I had self harmed and had no desire to hurt anyone else. Of course ive got to convince a jury of this which is going to be difficult I think. I will certainley take on board what you say about showing remorse, keeping calm etc. Thank you for your post.
