Ford Fiesta 2001 Trip Meter Keeps Reseting

The Trip Meter keeps resetting everytime i turn on the engine anyone got any ideas what this may be...b4 i take it to a garage and they tell me its a fuse and charge �60...thanks...btw is it possible its a fuse?

the perminent live connection has stopped so everytime you switch the car on it resets, find the fuse for the display,
