would like to know how much an average tv or pc uses and how to work it out ,per hour say , thks

Typical LCD & LED TVs use between 100W and 300W of power. (In general, larger screens mean higher power consumption but figures vary a great deal between different makes and models). Since there are 1000 watts in a kilowatt, that means that one hour of use uses between 0.1 kilowatt-hours and 0.3 kilowatt hours. On most tariffs, one kilowatt-hour costs around 12p, so that's between 1.2p and 3.6p per hour.
Some more efficient plasma TVs have similar power ratings to those mentioned above but many are more power hungry (at around 500 watts) and thus costing around 6p per hour to run.
Desktop PCs typically consume around 100 watts so (as above) that's around 1.2p per hour, but that figure might need to be doubled to allow for the power consumption of peripherals (such as the monitor, router, etc).
