Clanad, your price is in US gallons (3.75 litres) our gallon is 4.5 litres. We have literally more to complain about ! For a while your fuel was $3.75 a US gallon, which we could translate pretty easily. Why we persist in miles per gallon when the fuel is sold in litres is not obvious. It's just habit and only works for comparing one car with another. It would be easier if we used litres per 100 miles (in Europe generally they use litres per 100km) or even, given modern cars' economy, miles per litre. Then the cost would be easily calculated, in practical terms, by anyone.
