They're still bleating on about a "mansion" tax.

So you work hard all your life.

Instead of blowing your income on foreign holidays, cars, etc ... you struggle to pay the huge mortgage to buy a nice house.

Finally, it is paid off.

You retire, and have just enough to live on, but you have your lovely home.

You haven't enjoyed a high life, because everything you earned went into your home.

And now those horrid little plebs down the road want to screw you for more tax? That will teach you not to be thrifty! In your next life, just blow the lot on women and foreign holidays, then the nasty little Lib Dems will leave you alone.

Those malicious little plebs, busily enjoying the high life at their annual beano (sorry, "conference") should get out of our town right now.

And ... breathe.

Rant over.

LOL
I do think it kind of undercuts the notion of saving for future generations if you tax wealth. I oppose it on principal, not because it would force me to sell one of my many palaces.
I oppose it on principle:-)
Lib Dems are a bunch of nutters heading for nowhere.

Many of their voters (living in Islington) wont be too pleased at this. After all it is usually do as I say not as I do.

It is totally wrong to 'punish' savers. This is why no one saves and the Government is trying to force you to have a pension. But what is the point they just take it from you and give it to foreigners both in the country and out.

Country has already gone to the dogs, thanks to Noo labour. (Will his Toniness have to pay ? ) hahahaha

I doubt if Tony B will have to pay.

I bet his fifteen or so houses are all just under the £2m mark.
What about if you own a home abroad ?
Question Author
Don't see how, jurisdictionally, they can tax an overseas property.
Well there's the answer, flog your house now and buy one abroad.
Oh and by the way my name is Tony but not Blair ok.

Just the six? Poor Tony, LOL

So the view of the Labour hierarchy is that £20m per year does not equate to super rich?

I know you've always had to be wealthy to be a socialist, but have the trots moved up on to some higher ethereal financial plane, way above the rest of us?
I don't know why your moaning jj, bet you voted for them !
