I have been using Chris Mart's site to help with the Radio Times crossword, but this week his grid is, for some reason, different from mine. My 9 down has an extra white square on the bottom row, making the answer plural for me. He has a black square. Is the answer singular or plural? Does anyone else have the same problem? I am intrigued!

I'd go off what's in your copy of the RT

My son does the same crossword, but he says his grid in the same as Chris Mart's. I wonder how many people have different grids, and why would that be? My inclination is to do what you suggest, as I really have no alternative. Thanks for your prompt reply.
Is it one where you post off your completed grid?
9D, is.........4 & 9 ending with an S
My grid has the answer as being 4,9 letters .Considering the answer is an anagram of captains given ( cave paintings ) you need thirteen spaces which I have on my copy .
just had a look at CMs site, it does not match my Magazine.
Okay well if it's one where you take all the shaded answers and find an anagram then does it make any difference?
If you want to enter the x-word comp. as well, yes it does.
;o)
Hi baldric- how do you enter the crossword comp then? Don't you post off the completed grid?
Can also enter on line now factor, details under name and address section of at bottom of x-word.
So if you enter on line the crossword grid will be online so margaretta should submit the completed on line version. So I don't see what the issue is- am I missing something?
There was a thread about it a while back, you can send it as an Email or scan it and send it as an attachment if I remember correctly.
Thanks, baldric. It's okay- i'm not doing the crossword; I'm just trying to understand what the issue is because I can't see one.. Anyway, I'll leave it now
I think the issue is 9d.
Chris Marts site gives 4 & 8 with spaces to match.
My Mag. gives 4 & 9 with spaces to match.
just makes a difference between singular or plural, doesn't affect any other clue.
I still don't see the issue- I'd just fill in what's in front of me. Perhaps we should we just leave it there as maybe we're talking at cross purposes. Thanks
He has the correct answer under the grid, so we can assume a mistake in his reproduction of the grid, I think?
