I am thinking of buying a satnav or tom tom for my car

are they as good as they make out to be.

I am short sighted so I do not need glasses for driving but would I still be able to realise the small screen on the device.

I think they are great. I only wish I had one when I did high mileage.

The only thing I can suggest to see if you can see the screen is to pop into halfords or dixons and ask for a demo. My wife is short sighted but she seems to be able to cope with it.

And of course, dont forget that they do speak and tell you which way to go.

I have the tomtom 300 model and can honestly say i would be lost without it. It is very clear to see, easy to use and you'll never get lost again. They are going for about 299.00 at the minute. Good investmant though.
ihave tom tom 5 on my nokia phone good pice of kit also does speed cameras i did have tom tom 300 but some scumbag stole it out of van thats why i put it on phone

I have TomTom 5 on my PDA which I use in the car and am well pleased with it, as oneeyedvic states they do speak to you (very clearly as well) and to be quiet honest you tend to listen to the voice and not look at the display so much, having said that my eyesight is not brilliant and I have no problems with the PDA. , put it on the christmas pressy list and enjoy.

TOM TOM GO is the make to go for. Buy the best one you can afford. I have a 300 and love it.
