I don't know what you mean, woofgang, about not being able to describe in theory the stages of a model that people might go through - there are several clinical models for grief, describing the stages people may present with.
neck isn't out...while nurses get taught this crap and don't question it, they will continue to be as unhelpful (lovely, caring wanted to help) but unhelpful as the in patient nurses were to to me and to DH when he was dying.
I have never uni lectured but was an Occupational Therapist and certificated fieldwork educator before i retired.
ilovemarkb....as the essay will involve a model, pick whichever one you think will most suit the needs of the other objectives. i liked bowlby personally, and johns as a reflective model....but each to their own. good luck with it x
I know boxy and when you experience it for yourself, you realise that they are crap.
yep...and you sound so lovely there with it, woofgang. seeing as grief is a recognised psychological process, with loads of different models and ot's have f*** all to do with patient's feelings.....what would you know? leave the psych nursing to us psych nurses, eh?
well except OTs are the ONLY clinical profession who do a dual Psych and physical training. I presume as a widow who has done grieving from the sharp end I am allowed a view?
btw....i still recommend you go back and read the conversation from the start. again.

As you know lcg 76 I'm not allowed my own thoughts and opinion EVERYTHING has to be referenced! You know what its like and it takes forever, especially when I procrastinate on Answerbank LOL
