Or are people simply giving Mr Clarkson a bit of his own medicine, humour-wise?

I wouldn't go that far. At least any forum where you converse with other people.
For ages I thought it was called Twatter..............

Sorry Mick-Talbot, I was otherwise engaged.

Do I think Jeremy Clarkson is a racist? For calling his dog Whoopi?

To be honest, I only found that out yesterday.

I couldn't say one way or the other.

I place him in the same group as Chris Evans and Chris Moyles. I simply think he's boorish.
Your answer to Baldrics post seemed to insuate otherwise.

I assumed as you were posting elsewhere on the site, you were thinking carefully about your reply.

I take it that you don't actually think his dog won an Oscar ?
Yet again I find myself mystified by the actions of others.

I have no time for the concepts of Facebook or Twitter, and would immagine that anyone who uses them would be subject to the same vagiaries as all other users - anyone can say what they want to whom they want.

That's fine if you accept it as a given, but to post personal information as a public figure and then take issue with the nonsense that follows smacks of attention-seeking naivity.

Since I perceive Mr Clarkson to be not at all naiive, althogh utterly attenion-seeking, I cannot believe that he is in any way surprised to find the level of vitrol that has poured into his computer.

Nonsense begats nonsense - but it does sell papers.
Baldric.

Was JC not being racist by naming a Black Labrador Whoopi after black actress Whoopi Golgberg?

Why do you think he was being racist?
andy, it is not 'attention-seeking naivety'
In this case case I believe it to be 'calculated attention-seeking'
umm, no you just don't need to put all the personal stuff out there. This site is a good example, if you want people to know your business fine, but most don't, so they say little. In his case i am not sure why he thinks everyone is a bstard, seeing not everyone knows who he is, or perhaps cares.
This from the man who said "I ran over a fox last week, I could have swerved to avoid it , I chose not to." What goes around, comes around!
Clarkson seems to be a man who has based his entire career on being obnoxious. As you sow, and all that.
Quite, and he was so bereaved that he was conducting an experiment. I'm sorry his dog died, but he is a pudding.
Why does Clarkie think we are remotely interested in his dog? Would he be interested in ours? Why do celebs have to twitter mindlessly about the minutiae of their lives. I think most of them would need to go and get a life!
I think most of them have a life better than most of us.
Depends what you mean by a life, ummm. Cetainly lots more money than most of us but woudn't agree they have a better life. They never seem to be happy unless they are moaning about something.
Many of these people get paid for their views. Most of us moan for free but have a much smaller audience.
Most ABer's are not utter Joy-sticks - Clarkson is!

Errr...no, my answer to Baldric was a joke because Whoopi Goldberg won an Oscar for her role in 'Ghost' (Best Supporting Actress).

How did you infer an accusation of racism from that???
