Elvis: where where you when you got the news?

Ric,ror has just pointed out today's significance - the anniversary of Elvis either dying or going to work in Walmart, Albuquerque.
So where were you when you got the news?
I was planning my fieldwork dissertation for my archaeology degree......the Lune valley seemed somehow less exciting afterwards....

Holidaying in Llithfaen in North Wales. Went to make a morning cup of tea and heard it on the radio. Thought he was old at 42, now think it is young!

I think it was on the news at 10, I was in bed and my mum came and told me so I got up and watchec.

I was in Roswell (Midlothian) bowling club..my BF was playing in a band there that night..

I really don't remember. I do, however, where I was when I heard the news about JFK. I even remember where I was standing in the room

I feel somehow comforted that Elvis and George IV shared the same death.

Lottie - I can recall being very disconcerted at the blurry news footage, and a man reading out the news trying not to cry. I was about 6.

Hope I heard in the evening because I was drinking Martini and lemonade and minding the kids with a friend while Ohs were at the pub. Very 70s and daft. Be the other way round now.
Could have been the morning I suppose.
