If you make a claim for minimum payments, under one of the above schemes, is that amount then deducted from your state benefit allowance?

e.g. Minimum payments of 100.00 pcm is paid to loan company. Is 25.00 deducted weekly from state benefit?

If so then why opt to join those schemes in the first instance?

I am unsure about this - a very good question!

You may wish to contact the DSS or wherever your state benefit is paid from. I am inclined to think that you benefit would remain unaffected if you were to claim with the creditor; however do not hold me to that!
