I have been given a prescription of antibiotics for a bite on my leg which has become infected. They are to be taken four times a day either, one hour before food or on an empty stomach. How long after eating a meal, do I have to wait before my stomach is empty? I know it depends on how much I eat but generally speaking, how long does it take?

Will this be o.k.?

Tablet at 7 o'clock. Breakfast at 8 o'clock
Tablet at mid day. Lunch at 1 o'clock
Tablet at 6o'clock. Tea at 7 o'clock
Tablet at 10.30pm

The itch! (mozzy bite) not sure if this would help any of you

I also had a bite a few years ago i used witch hazel gel on...straight out the fridge! Aaaah was soo soooothing xx
Yes Tilly, but wouldn't that give the bugs some bare flesh to have a bite at ?
I don't do sandals, or zip-offs - my feet and legs are intensely private and I have signed a 'no publicity' deal with them ...
Tilly, did you not know that dave's legs are insured for a million pounds !
Tilly, I always find it useful to eat some yoghurt at the meal following an antibiotic tablet. Buy a big pot and have a couple of spoonfuls with each tab - it helps replace the bacteria in your stomach thus reducing any ill effects often associated with antibiotics.

Why doesn't the antibiotic kill the live bacteria in the yogurt? Just wondered.
Because it's "good" bacteria sqad ... did they teach you nothing in Scarborough :)
Dave....LOL....right.

Can an antibiotic distinguish between a 'good' and 'bad' bacteria?
Is it because the bacteria from the yoghurt`s in the gut but the antibiotic`s in the bloodstream?
Socks, with sandals................only the Brits can pull that one off!

No one can 'pull off' socks with sandals.
