Lidl's Wine

Lidl have a 6 for 4 case deal on wine which seems good value has anyone tried their wine, I like red what do you recommend merlot or shiraz

I remember a lady going into an outdoor and asking for a good wine for her guests.
The man said he could sell her the most expensive wine in the shop but if it was not to their taste it was not a good wine.
I found out later she returned the next day with her guests to choose their own wine.

Aldi has a better reputation for inexpensive wine than Lidl.
This is a smashing red for the price and has several awards:

when i was in the shop earlier when an immigrant came in and asked the shopkeeper if he could recommend a good port...i was rather taken aback when the guy behind the counter said ''dover''....

I have been trying Lidls red wines for a few months now, and they have been very good indeed. There is an South African Merlot costing £4.29 and its 14.5 % !
