Are all your spark plugs tight and definitely making a good seal?
Question Author
they were buckled but i straightened them, i got new 1 im will install later
Viscous Fan / water pump.
Could be loads of things making the rattle, you could try the length of hosepipe in your ear and use it as stethoscope to try and locate it.

The other noise does sound like either a blowing manifold or bad seal on a spark plug.
Benny, Did I read you reply right? they were buckled but i straightened them, i got new 1 I'm will install later, are you joking? Come on Benny use your head, you should never use plugs that have either cracked electrodes, Threads that are crossed, & definitely not Buckled.
Benny???

And yeah I agree actually... I'm not sure what you mean by buckled spark plug.... but straightening them is not a good idea!
p.s.

I'm also really not sure about the carbon fibre wrap on the bonnet.... but each to their own.
It sounds as if it could be a misfire on one cylinder.Try disconnecting one plug lead at a time, this should make a significant difference except for the faulty one. Then swap the plug from the 'bad' cylinder with a good one and repeat the above test. If the fault has moved with the plug then the plug is the problem. Why not treat it to a new set of plugs, they don't last forever.
Question Author
they were new sparkplugs, i had no choice but to straighten them, only got another set of new plugs today, im putting them in now
you say blown manifold, intake or exhaust?
Question Author
and who's benny, ha
Sorry, there is another person on that has simular post to yourself Top.
Ruptured diaphragm.
Exhaust manifold... it normally the rear-most cylinder that blows on M52 and M54 engines, but do the plugs first.
Sounds like a partially bloked cat to me.
sorry 'blocked'
Question Author
changed plugs and no diference, whats the diaphragm
Question Author
unfortunately if it is a blocked cat, the exhaust is all in one piece
Question Author
still can't figure out what diaphragm is, where is it
very difficult not being there, but originally i suspected the viscouse drive or the dreaded water pump, although it sounds to me like you have an airleak although it sounds more like a 'rotary sound' ... i suspect a couple of different issues at the same time..
Question Author
do you want to list a few, haha, one suspected, i need new coils, i am replacing oil seperator valve and pipe soon as it arrives, im going to look into getting manifold gasket after that im out of ideas
