I am trying to connect to a router but no one can remember the password. The PC I am on is connected I know that it is 8 characters long because I can see it in the properties. But it will not let me click "show characters" to see what it is. Is there any way to find it out?

We have BT router and ID is on a small label on the bass of it.
Yep same here, and when I'm at a friends house I get it from the label on their Talk Talk router. I'm sure they're all similar.
Virgin router here: password also on label on reverse.
You could try this. I use it a lot and it works for most (but not all) programs that show asterisks in the password field.

It's free.
Most routers have a reset button which sets everything back to factory presets. The manual, which you can find online if you have lost it, will tell you what the factory setting for the password is. Once you are in you can set the password to whatever you want.
NB you will lose any other settings you have made when you press the reset.
