Yeah sure you can, but when you thaw it don't be suprised when some of those (if not all) go all squishy.

The pineapple will probably stay just fine, I've no idea what grapes will do, orange will probably be fine and the melon and apple will probably go soft. but yeah, it's not dangerous or anything so why not?

shake the fruit in a little lemon juice or orange juice to stop it going brown

I have actually done successfully this with chunks or large sliced apple. (peel and depip first!!) As with anything to freeze, the fruit should be in v.good condition with no sign of bruising. Put in a plastic bag sprinkle generously with lemon juice and caster sugar. Mix the lot together and put in plastic bag and remove as much air as possible before freezing. The advantage of using a plastic bag rather than a container is you can monitor the condition of the apple whilst frozen and use immediately if it looks as if it is deteriorating. I have found the fruit to be still firm (so far!!)

I have also frozen grapes successuly but would imagine melon could be too watery.

You cannot freeze a banana it will go black

Freezing fruit is fine for the types of fruit you would use in cooking / baking etc, fruit that is used as a puree or filling.

Eg, apples, blackberries, gooseberries, rhubarb etc.

Don't expect the defrosted article to be like eating a slice / berry etc of the fresh article. Most will just turn to mush.

Yes, bananas can be frozen. The outside skin will turn black, but the inside will be fine. I skin mine, cut them up, and put them in plastic bags before freezing. Then, you can take out what you want to use. Excellent for cooking and baking, etc.
