Without naming names I think there have been a few threads in serious topics on AB where new users have come on with similar themes, written in a very similar style, and suspicions have been aroused about their authenticity. I can't work out though why anyone would go to the trouble of inventing scenarios.

Hi eddie51. Hopefully we assume all threads are genuine unless there is good reason to think otherwise. In most of those I highlighted though the wording was very similar and all contained the unusual expression "I was just wandering..." . It could be of course that they were all genuine and they simply used the previous post as a template and just amended it to suit their situation.

there were no good old days ...
trolls have always been here and they always will be ... which is why i cannot understand why people get so irate about them and feel the need to investigate them, present a case against them etc etc

its an utterly pointless activity ... and also is exactly the reaction they want

I just thought it was at best disrespectful when what seemed to be a genuine question got replies like '' I can't believe people are still answering this rubbish''
Even if we think a questioner is using a 'fake ID' a sencible question deserves a polite answer.
