Found out on Tuesday that a work friend had died suddenly, found out today that it was suicide. No note, no apparent reason, nothing.

Her family is devastated as all are her friends and it makes it worse when no-one knows why I think - maybe something will be discovered later that can make some sense of it all. :(

Awful Craft. We don't know what damage it's done to my cousin as we don't know what she might have been like had it not happened.

She's a lovely lady...but has issues in certain areas.

One of my close work colleagues committed suicide several years ago - our team were so so shocked, I have never forgotten her. She was the most unlikely person to do it.
It goes to show that we can never know what others are feeling that they are not able to speak to anyone or get help.very sad
There was a case in the local paper a couple of months ago of a 14 year old girl who hung herself, there was no know reason, no bullying at school, nothing. Her father found her and I cant imagine what he went through and still must be going through.
I have known two people that committed suicide out of the blue!
Again people that were the least likely to do this. 1 in 4 people will suffer mental health problems in their life. We need a better understanding of mental health and more tolerance!
Sometimes we never really find the reason why!

You just dont know what's round the corner. My Oh had 3 suicides in his village of 600 people in the space of a year (a long time ago) - one of them hung himself in the children playground from the swing frame :(

It is so sad for those that are left to wonder why. No one can tell what private agonies they go through to even think of doing such a thing. When one of my work colleagues hung himself several years ago we wondered what we could have done to prevent it. If only...

high, it's a small village i guess that it was somewhere he knew was private and had somewhere suitable to take his weight. I think when people are in that frame of mind, i don't think they are necessarily thinking of other people as can be seen from some of the stories on here. They demolished the park and rebuilt a new one at the other end of the village.
Of course they aren't thinking straight.

you're right Ummmm - but I can't help thinking that a bit of anger is normal as you try to come to terms with it - rollercoaster of emotions :(
Yes, very much so. It's a very emotive subject.
indeed it is - it is an awful imposition on survivors.

I know someone whose 25 yr old son commited suicide and left a 10 page letter stating how much he hated his father and they had no idea that he felt like that, didnt know them well enough to ask questions but it split the whole family up.
I worked nights in a London hotel and we used to get the odd suicide, my manager said that people did it to save their relatives from the shock of finding the body. One guy asked for a top floor room and jumped off the balcony during the night then the police told us that he had murdered his neice the day before. It takes all sorts.
