Had a last minute supper and it was delicious. Had already made the bolognese sauce/meat the day before. Decided didnt fancy pasta for a change, and found a packet of chilled gnocchi in fridge. Took just 3 mins to cook, stirred in the sauce/meat and it was so tasty!

p.s. also, if you cook the gnocchi, then roast in oven with a little oil you then have baby roasties!

Clever u ...

I wouldn't have thought of that. I'd have ended up with the usual spaghetti.
Gnocchi is my favourite "pasta". My wee Nonna and I make it. I have never thought to turn them into roasties lol Must try that next time I make them :)
I've never tried gnocchi. It's on my list of 'must eats'
Lol Vodka...I remember your gnocchi pic on FB.

its absolutely delicious. I always have a pack at the back of the fridge, cooks in 2 -3 mins, as soon as they float to the top of the water they are done!
I just remembered something my nonna's sister does with her gnocchi. She boils it just until it's slightly underdone. She drains it, puts it in an ovenproof dish along with the bolognese sauce and tears some fresh mozzarella and fresh basil and bakes until the cheese is bubbly. She then finishes it with grated parmesan cheese and a drizzle of olive oil. It's yum lol

That sounds lovely too!
having just read all your reports about gnocchi I must try it. Please where can I buy it?
Mmmmmmmmm,mm

S.o.g asda sell it in the fresh aisle im pretty sure xxxx
Many thanks Tink,I'll go looking for it later today.
Be very careful if you have to ask for assistance. I know from bitter experience that only a single vowel lies between the pronunciation of Gnocchi and Nookie, which may cause some confusion at the deli counter.
Tink.As you said I found some today at Asda.Their seemed to be a few varieties but I chose the multicoloured ones which incorporate spinach and tomato in their mix, I will be giving it a try later this week....Mike I didn't need to ask for assistance but I know what you mean. ( ooh you're awfull but I like you Slap!!..eg the great Dick Emmery. bcot.
