Yesterday I slipped and fell heavily in Asda supermarket. mrask and a lady who said she witnessed my fall said that there was some apricot (or apricot coloured) peel which caused me to slip, by which time a man had walked out with it was stuck to his shoe. We were on our way out of the store when I fell. The store manager and a young first aid attendent came and asked a lot of questions took photos of the floor and the slip marks. I was in shock my immediate concern was for my replacement hip. I was told I should receive a courtesy call from Asda within a couple of days after they view the CCTV. I've wrenched my thumb and shoulder and ankle. It's painful now to open jars or grip things being right handed. My back and knees aches and I feel bruised where I fell on my hip and bottom, but no bruising yet. Thankfully nothing seems broken. I've been told that I should put in a claim, even if I don't proceed with anything. I feel awkward about making a fuss and claiming, but I'm told if something happens as a result of the fall later my claim would be justified. What do you think?

That sounds helpful, I wasn't sure who to get in touch with. I didn't know if those accident firms are a con. I'm thinking of looking for advice. my back is still aching and I've a blue bruise coming out on my hip.
Mine took about 2 years but that might have been because my accident was more serious.
If you've got bruises AyG, take photos and consider a return visit to the GP to make sure the injuries are documented - no proof = no case!
Ask one of these claims firms, and if they seem eager to take you on, go find a reputable solicitor in your own locality.
I slipped on some liquid that had been spilled at work , got a swollen elbow with some internal bleeding. I put in a claim via my union and got £500 . That was over 10 years ago probably get more now, but I don't think it would be in the £1,000s
No win no fee companies assess your case for litigation. They are a good indicators as to your chances of compensation.

So sorry to hear about your fall AYG, poor you, you do feel really embarrassed more than anything else don't you? I would fill in an accident form, then see how you are.
I had an accident at work 30 years ago, a workman was repairing wiring under the floorboards, he'd gone for his lunch, and replaced the office carpet over the gaping hole (yes really!) and I was hurrying across our large open plan office to give someone an urgent message. You can guess what happened, I fell right down the "hole" I felt so so stupid, hurt my shoulder, bent my glasses and twisted my ankle. Word of my accident spread around the office and about an hour later a Personnel Officer rang me to ask if I would be putting in a claim (unheard of in those days!) I said not as I was too embarrassed as I'd still got to continue working there! If I had known then what I know now I could have been a bit richer in my twilight years!
It sounds like you have a case gran, as long you dont end up with peanuts you could be allergic.
